Preparation of peanut shell cellulose nanofibrils and their superhydrophobic aerogels and their application on cotton fabrics

Nowadays, the application range of biomass materials is more and extensive. In this work, peanut shell powder was used as raw material. The cellulose nanofibrils extracted from it by chemical mechanical method. Then, using sol-gel method, methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) added to suspension modify it. Finally, nano-cellulose superhydrophobic aerogel prepared freeze-drying polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) were coated on cotton fabric spraying analyzed characterized respectively. results shown that nanocellulose had a three-dimensional sheet-like structure with superhydrophobicity. hydrophobic property water contact angle (WCA) fabrics significantly improved after finishing. WCA can reached 160°, finished has good antifouling performance self-cleaning performance, oil-water separation efficiency reach 82.2%.
